Train to Work for Xcel Energy

9 Apr 2018

In the next ten years, half of Xcel Energy’s workforce will be retiring. This creates an incredible opportunity for those looking to earn a good wage, receive benefits and work for a stable and growing company. The challenge has been that being a lineworker requires significant training and skill. To prepare job applicants, Chippewa Valley Technical College and Xcel Energy have come together to expand their lineworker training program.

Over the course of nine months, students learn things like how to climb and maneuver polls and operate large equipment. They also learn how to safely work with electricity. This can be an exciting profession and one that gets you outside in the fresh air. To learn more about it or to start your training program, click here.
