What is STEPS for Girls?

1 Mar 2016

UW-Stout has created a program to bolster excitement for science and engineering within 6th and 7th grade girls during a five-day summer camp called STEPS, which stands for Science, Technology, and Engineering Preview Summer (STEPS).

STEPS provides an interesting look and preliminary engagement into science, technology and engineering by allowing young women the opportunity to have hands-on experience, access to outstanding professors, the ability to hone in their leadership and problem-solving skills, and participate in exciting recreational and development activities.

STEPS activities look at analyzing, manufacturing and operating obstacle-avoiding robots, hands-on sessions in science and math, and the creation of multimedia content articles.  For more information on the Science, Technology, Engineering Preview Summer program, look here: http://www.uwstout.edu/steps/
