Managing money and quality: The Northwest Wisconsin Engineering Consortium approach

23 May 2016

Developing world class programs for world class students have considerable startup costs and ongoing funding.  UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout and UW-River Falls planned to develop the programs without additional state resources or taxing the taxpayers of Wisconsin.

Identifying additional areas of financial support, such as the National Science Foundation grants and other private support, allow for the schools to equip their labs to maintain top quality.  Lastly, a large recruitment focus allows for the UW schools to continuously improve.  This recruitment focus begins with high-quality partnerships and relationships with area manufacturers, middle schools and high schools, and top students.
