Kevin Gilbertson is the fifth generation on a farm established by his family in 1875. An advanced dairy-production course during his junior year at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls cemented the decision to make farming his career.

During that course students toured farms that were on the front end of a major expansion phase in Wisconsin’s dairy industry. Although farming tradition in his family was drawing him back, Gilbertson said exposure to other progressive dairies helped him see a long-term future in the industry. He graduated in 1995 from the university with a degree in agricultural business.
