Latest developments: Strategic design competition produces top notch results

It is interesting how far a little collaboration, along with viewing a problem from another’s perspective, can create change and innovation.
Such a process began last year when Assistant Professor Dr. Meriem Chida at UW-Stout approached the Menomonie Chamber of Commerce to help identify the owner of a vacant downtown business. The Chamber connected her with the Main Street manager, who was able to make introductions to the business owner. Dr. Chida, along with several students, worked with the owner for the remainder of the semester to get the building open and a business operating.
