Several months ago, this column addressed our need for engineers in the west central Wisconsin. Activities of the Northwest Engineering Consortium currently taking place will have lasting effects on our local economy and quality of life.

Spearheaded by the chancellors from the three I-94 corridor universities — UW-Stout, UW-River Falls and UW-Eau Claire — along with the assistance of local industry, educators, organizations and economic development organizations, NWEC is championing the campaign to offer new engineering programs at the three institutions.
