The Future of Training

10 Jul 2017

The new FABLAB is the future of training for students who want to get a hands on experience with creating, designing, fabricating and even creating a prototype of their new project. For years’ students have had to wait at the back of the line to have their inventions created, or even to have a prototype of a great idea made. Today, with the technological training of UW-Stout and a specific set of programs, there is no need to wait. The FABLAB offers the students of UW-Stout the ability to dream, create, and fabricate all within the confines of the universities own innovative FABLAB.

Classes are free to UW-Stout faculty and students, though the college does insist on some basic classes before you can start dreaming things up to make on the 3D printer. These include a laser engraver / vinyl cutter class so that you know how to handle the machines. In addition, students can take free classes in ShobBot, 3D Printing, and using the Torchmate plasma table.
